Description

During Victorian and Edwardian times, after dinner, gentlemen left the ladies and gathered to smoke their cigars and share a drink. In order to spare the ladies the smell of smoke gentlemen would frequently don their "smoking jacket and smoking cap" which could be removed, along with the smoke smell.
Civil War re-enactors enjoy wearing the warm caps on a cool evening around the campfire. Steam punk, Edwardian, cigar club members, or any distinguished gentleman, will enjoy the cap. Smoking caps are a great accessory, suitable for many eras and uses.
These caps are all sized medium. The round caps are  about 22-23" in circumference, and about 3 to 3 3/4" tall. All are made of period correct fabrics, (except as noted). They have an inner lining of quilt batting, for warmth, and are lined with a comfortable cotton or flannel lining. These are new, unused caps, from Turtle Run Mercantile.

(Pictures 1 & 2) Black cotton velveteen. The tassel is silk look black chainette secured to the cap with an antique silver metal mirror button. The interior of the button shines like a mirror in bright light. The outer shell of the button is made with interesting zig-zag designs. The outer ring is made of half circles, the inner ring is a full circle of smaller zig-zags and the center is a raised silver ball. The cap is lined with black cotton broadcloth.
#2 (Pictures 3 & 4 ) Red cotton velveteen. The tassel is a silk look, rayon tassel with a thick knotted cord. The button is a filigree gold
metallic frame with a clear red jewel like center. It is lined
with warm, black 100% cotton flannel.

Light gray 100% wool gabardine. The handmade  100% cotton tassel is silver colored. It is held in place with an antiqued silver colored button with a sunburst design. The cap is lined with gray and white striped cotton.

100% cotton corduroy cap. It is decorated with a silky looking pale blue double  row of cording with a matching double tassel.
The cap is lined with 100% cotton broadcloth made with narrow stripes of navy and white.

Camel colored 100% wool.
The  cap is decorated with maroon colored silk look rayon cord with a matching double tassel. The lining of the cap is cream colored  polished 100% cotton.

Black
100% wool cap. It has a short, black chainette fringe tassel held in place with a shiny silver metal button with a lion's face.  The cap is lined with bright red, 100% cotton broadcloth.
