Here is a good Grueby Pardee pottery tile with a galleon ship in front of a full moon with matte green sea and a creamy white moon against a blue sky, mauve ship and ochre sail.  The matte glaze colors are nicely curdled and stay within the brown recessed lines. When Boston's Grueby Pottery and Tile sold to Pardee in 1919, William Grueby continued to manage the faience line and received royalties for the use of designs and glazes until his death in 1925.  It measures 4 1/4 inches square and about 3/8 inch thick (framed, 7 1/8" square).  The tile was broken and repaired, not so noticeable framed.  Marked "The C. Pardee Works" on the back.
